Charging problems with MacBook Pro

My MacBookPro cannot charge from the USB-C port using a 65w charger but it charges when I switch to a 100w charger. Is this a setting problem?

My MBP 15 only charging at 60W instead of the expected 96W Hello, Under the Power panel of System Information, my MBP 15" 2019 reports that it's charging at 60W. However, I'm using a 96W USB-C charger. I switched because my 87W charger died. Prior to the switch, the System Information Power panel was reporting that it was charging at 87W. I understand that the 15" MBP cannot charge at 96W, but shouldn't it at least be charging at 87W with the 96W charger instead of a slower 60W? I don't understand why it would be doing this. I tried it when my battery was full and when it was at ~95 percent, but System Information still reports that it's charging at 60W. CoconutBattery reports my MBP charger as a 60W charger too. Could it be the charging cable (which to the best of my knowledge, is genuine)? I remember using this cable with the 87W charger before it and it worked fine (displayed under System Information as 86W) Thank you

MacBook battery not charging from a specific USB-C Port Hello to everyone! Have a quick question... I realise today that there is a problem with my usb-c ports. I am not able to charge my Mac from one of the two available usb-c ports. When I connect the official apple charger (that came with the laptop) to the problematic port the battery icon is showing that is plugged to the power and when I click the battery icon I see Power Source: Power adapter , Battery is not charging. The weird thing is that even that the laptop is connected to the power outlet the battery is discharging. When I plug the charger to the other port the battery icon shows the lightning thing that indicates that the laptop is charging. Does anyone have an idea what is causing this? Question about macbook charging Hi, i tried to test power draw from my charger for my macbook pro [pd up to 65w], before last update when testing on my usb cable it is shown to charge on 65W but after last update it is only drawing 30-35 watt depending if i open application or not sometimes goes to 40 if i running many application all at once . i want to ask is it normal or there is a possibility that my charger is broken update: even if it is shown to charge at 30W somehow it still takes the same amount to charge the laptop, and on system report detected charger still output at 65W

Nope. Different Macs take different amounts of power. Knowing your model's specs for power is important.

Identify your Mac power adapter - Apple Support

In the worst case, people using 85W on 45W Magsafe I've seen a port burn out. So I always say use the article to know what's right for you.
