CarPlay with iOS 17.5.1 not working

Since I updated to iOS version 17.5.1, CarPlay stopped working, I restarted, I reset the network connections, I hit forget phone in my car, I also deleted it from the phone, nothing works, I'm very disappointed that I updated it :(. Has anyone solved it?

this CarPlay issue is ridiculous. The amount of money I spend on Apple products and this is what we are left to deal with. Please get it fixed.

I use an iPhone 14 (OS 17.5.1) with a 2019 Range Rover Velar and apple carplay still works but I use a cable connection. One issue I do have is that I cannot access the Landrover Route Planner app now on either my phone or iPad, also OS 17.5.1. I can still access LR Route Planner via the computer. Definitely an Apple issue.

I'm having the same issue, although I don't have Car Play. Since the upgrade, I can still listen to my Libby app on my phone through my car, but I can't hear any phone calls. I live in a state where it is illegal to not use hands free calling, so this is a big issue. Just wanted to chime in so that Apple knows it's not just cars with CarPlay that are affected.

I had the same issue, but I was able to fix it by switching my car profile from owner to guest, which allowed me to enable CarPlay again and once I went back to the owner profile it allowed me to enable CarPlay once again. I have a 2024 Honday hybrid sport. I hope this helps. Other cars may have a different configuration.

I have a 2023 Chevy Tahoe and CarPlay has always worked perfectly….until this most recent update.

I know it’s not the car because my daughter has not updated her phone yet and it still works for her.

This is extremely frustrating and I hope Apple fixes it very soon.

I'm "glad" it's not just me. The last couple of weeks Carplay hasn't been connecting to my Nissan Rogue. I thought of all the "other things" first (maybe the USB cord got crimped, or there's dirt in the jack, etc.) Finally after all that, I thought to look here and I can certainly add my voice 17.5.1 CarPlay is not working for me either. Halp!

Hi, I’ve got the same problem, ford kuga 2019 model, CarPlay hasn’t worked since latest apple update - 17.5.1

ive got a new cable, that’s not worked, I’ve ensured my car has latest software, still nothing. Sometimes it connects, but when I stop the car and go back to it, phone connected, it won’t register the CarPlay at all. Almost like the phone doesn’t exist

Same here. After 17.5.1 updates I have spent countless hours on the phone with Apple. They had me reset everything on my car and phone, even created another profile and the CarPlay issue is still there. I can connect via usb, but that’s not the point for a $1400 phone. Come on apple figure this out or android here I come! Beyond frustrating. I have have 4 people all with the same iOS software and they could wirelessly connect to CarPlay. This is unacceptable!

June 24, 2024 - issue persists in my 2018 Honda Fit after a very frustrating weekend traveling and not able to use maps, podcasts, or music. At some point my phone was plugged in to charge, and suddenly map instructions came over the radio, and then stopped. This needs to be fixed!

When I google this issue, results show it’s been “solved” but I’ve tried everything and can’t connect wirelessly to Car Play since this latest iOS update. I have to plug in. The car will not recognize my device.

My husband didn’t do the update and his connects just fine.

WHAT IS THE FIX?

I’m having the same issue. I noticed CarPlay was not working on 5/20, around the time of the update on my rental car, while traveling for work. It eventually worked, but it stopped working again after coming home and using it in my 2022 Yukon. I knocked out all of the steps for a reconnect, and it's still not working. I'm hoping for a patch from Apple soon.

The same thing has happened to me since updating to the new iOS 17.5.1 software. I have a 15 Pro Max and have tried everything!! My messages used to pop up on the screen and now it doesn't happen and my phone and apple watch no longer alert me I have messages. It's like the phone has been set to silence mode but it's not at all. I drive a 2021 GWM Cannon. Hopefully Apple fix this glitch very soon!!!

So, finally after weeks of trying every other day at random times suddenly my CarPlay is working again.

Still on 17.5.1 and haven't changed anything in the car but it’s working.

Strangely though this morning I had the Black Screen of Death and had to force reset my phone. That’s the only thing different that I’ve done.

You press the top volume button, then the bottom volume button and hold the power button until you get the Apple sign.

I am having a same issue with my CarPlay since updated to 17.5.1. The only thing that I have so far figured out is that my phone does not catch the WiFi signal of my car play mobile screen. The Bluetooth works fine but WiFi signal is somehow blocked. When I used my older iPhone which is not updated yet, works perfectly okay as it can still read the WiFI of my CarPlay device.
