CarPlay with iOS 17.5.1 not working

Since I updated to iOS version 17.5.1, CarPlay stopped working, I restarted, I reset the network connections, I hit forget phone in my car, I also deleted it from the phone, nothing works, I'm very disappointed that I updated it :(. Has anyone solved it?

SOLVED (for wireless connectivity)!

Step 1. Attempt to pair as usual and after a fail …

Step 2. Open iphone settings -> WiFi -> find car WiFi -> click into it -> press “Forget this network”

Step 3. iphone Settings -> Bluetooth -> check that car is not listed among devices. If listed delete it

Step 4. iphone Settings -> Search “car” -> open CarPlay -> see if car is listed and if yes then go in and delete it.

Step 5. Car steering wheel press “talking face” button until pairing dialogue appears on the car screen

Step 6. iphone Settings -> CarPlay -> tap on the discovered car and follow prompts on the phone and car screen.

i assume the issue was that phone had some residual memory of either WiFi network or Bluetooth settings and this needs to be wiped clean before pairing after the upgrade to iOS 17.5.1.

hope this works for you!

So, finally after weeks of trying every other day at random times suddenly my CarPlay is working again.

Still on 17.5.1 and haven't changed anything in the car but it’s working.

Strangely though this morning I had the Black Screen of Death and had to force reset my phone. That’s the only thing different that I’ve done.

You press the top volume button, then the bottom volume button and hold the power button until you get the Apple sign.

I own a 2024 330i BMW sedan. I updated to iOS 17.5.1 yesterday and CarPlay no longer works. In fact, I could not even make phone calls, etc. In settings I made Bluetooth forget the vehicle and re-paired. Now I am able to only make phone calls over Bluetooth but CarPlay still does not work. I went to the Support app on my phone and chatted with an Apple rep and brought up the issue to them for them to document and fix

I drive a 2023 Lexus NX350. I had the exact problem several months/updates ago and nobody could figure it out because I seemed to be the only one at the dealership experiencing it. CarPlay would connect via Bluetooth, but if I sent a message or asked for directions Siri would short-circuit, skip or not understand. It would also start to unsend iMessages -very frustrated for having just purchased the car. It was miraculously fixed earlier this year, but has now started to have the same issues. I am currently at the dealership for a service appt and they confirmed with me that the problem does in fact lie with @Apple and will not be fixed until they decide to fix it.

The tech did share that he has it on good authority that Android users have not experienced any of the connectivity issues that Apple users have had. I love my iPhone, but knowing this now is making me reconsider if I upgrade my phone, or switch to an Android device. Get it together Apple! Hope this helps some of you as it sounds like this is a wide spread issue with iOS17.5.1.

I am having a same issue with my CarPlay since updated to 17.5.1. The only thing that I have so far figured out is that my phone does not catch the WiFi signal of my car play mobile screen. The Bluetooth works fine but WiFi signal is somehow blocked. When I used my older iPhone which is not updated yet, works perfectly okay as it can still read the WiFI of my CarPlay device.
