CarPlay with iOS 17.5.1 not working

Since I updated to iOS version 17.5.1, CarPlay stopped working, I restarted, I reset the network connections, I hit forget phone in my car, I also deleted it from the phone, nothing works, I'm very disappointed that I updated it :(. Has anyone solved it?

SOLVED (for wireless connectivity)!

Step 1. Attempt to pair as usual and after a fail …

Step 2. Open iphone settings -> WiFi -> find car WiFi -> click into it -> press “Forget this network”

Step 3. iphone Settings -> Bluetooth -> check that car is not listed among devices. If listed delete it

Step 4. iphone Settings -> Search “car” -> open CarPlay -> see if car is listed and if yes then go in and delete it.

Step 5. Car steering wheel press “talking face” button until pairing dialogue appears on the car screen

Step 6. iphone Settings -> CarPlay -> tap on the discovered car and follow prompts on the phone and car screen.

i assume the issue was that phone had some residual memory of either WiFi network or Bluetooth settings and this needs to be wiped clean before pairing after the upgrade to iOS 17.5.1.

hope this works for you!

This is ridiculous that Apple did not check for issue especially since the last 3 updates effected CarPlay. My Google maps, SiriusXM and phone will not work anymore. I’m sure there’s other too. Has anyone figured a fix out since Apple apparently can’t fix it. Apple needs to allow us to reverse updates if we have issues with their so called fixes.

I'm having the same issue, although I don't have Car Play. Since the upgrade, I can still listen to my Libby app on my phone through my car, but I can't hear any phone calls. I live in a state where it is illegal to not use hands free calling, so this is a big issue. Just wanted to chime in so that Apple knows it's not just cars with CarPlay that are affected.

2023 Mazda CX30. CarPlay quit speaking on Maps after upgrade to IOS 17.5.1. (Siri hears my request; map shows; directions print; there is just no voice.) I am reluctant to try all the resets, etc. in car, since no one seems to be succeeding. I HAVE checked all settings on phone that I have read to check. All good. (I haven't checked Messages to see if that's working; I can live without that for now; phone too- use car's nav) Do we just wait?

Hi, I’ve got the same problem, ford kuga 2019 model, CarPlay hasn’t worked since latest apple update - 17.5.1

ive got a new cable, that’s not worked, I’ve ensured my car has latest software, still nothing. Sometimes it connects, but when I stop the car and go back to it, phone connected, it won’t register the CarPlay at all. Almost like the phone doesn’t exist

I’m having the same issue. I noticed CarPlay was not working on 5/20, around the time of the update on my rental car, while traveling for work. It eventually worked, but it stopped working again after coming home and using it in my 2022 Yukon. I knocked out all of the steps for a reconnect, and it's still not working. I'm hoping for a patch from Apple soon.

The same thing has happened to me since updating to the new iOS 17.5.1 software. I have a 15 Pro Max and have tried everything!! My messages used to pop up on the screen and now it doesn't happen and my phone and apple watch no longer alert me I have messages. It's like the phone has been set to silence mode but it's not at all. I drive a 2021 GWM Cannon. Hopefully Apple fix this glitch very soon!!!
