App Store disappears when allowed via Screen Time

I have Screen Time controls set up on my daughter’s 9th generation iPad. She is running the latest iPadOS 17.5.1. The App Store is hidden on her iPad because I have the installation of apps “Not Allowed”. I “Allowed” the installation of apps so that the App Store app would appear and after 1-2 seconds it disappeared again, so we can’t access the App Store. Has anyone else encountered this bug? Is there a fix or proposed fix?

I found the solution on reddit: Disable content & privacy restrictions entirely. Not the install/delete options.

Go to Setting > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. Then set the Content & Privacy Restrictions toggle to off. Wait several seconds.

I have the same issue. You can try two things- both worked for me. You can turn off the Content and Privacy Restrictions, do what you need to do in the App Store then turn restrictions back on. Or, you can go into Content and Privacy Restrictions and allow apps for age 17+. Apple def needs to change the age for the App Store so you get kids can access it but this should help for the time being.

I found that I had to turn off app & website activity on my sons iPad to get the icon to return and stay put, but this lead me to it, thank you so much!!! 🙏 Apple, you really need to start trouble shooting your new updates PRIOR to sending them out to users! Especially when glitches like this can affect so many little ones out there! 😡

To fix go to -

settings >> screen time >> turn off app & website activity

I had this exact issue, tried switching the contents and privacy restrictions toggle off then on App Store only came back for about 5 secs then disappeared again.

I then reset the settings on iPad and once it restarted App Store was back. (General then scroll to the bottom to transfer or reset then go in and only press reset)

hope this helps 👍🏻

It s really unfortunate still the same problem in september

I had to unclick restriction to

be able to download apps, and today, all (4) banking apps have disapeared from my screen and phone finally got to app store, downloaded 1 successfully and the minute I kept it opened and got another page, the app simply disappeared, been in this for a good 3 hours, restrictions are off, should i re re download again 4 banks is it going to work ? and put back the restrictions This is really

bad for Apple. a big waste of time at trying to figure out what used to work. The problem is that many banks will require you to enter only with the bank app, and also

to get the app to be able to deposit a cheque- photo. So

you end up unable to do your banking. Apple should really address this problem seriously as the customers are not supposed to be forced to do the customer service.

Please!!!!
