My computer just shut down and started updating it wasn't till it was done and restarted that all my folders on my desktop were gone i can't find them in Finder only some but not all.
Can anyone help me find my work.

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes or more.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
Did iCloud Drive get enabled?
Hey nope it wasn't enabled, after all my work on my desktop was erased i turned it on trying to find my documents
Computer updated now i can't find my Documents and files that were on my desktop
