I lost my MacBook a few weeks ago and immediately used Apple's tools to block its access. Tonight, I started receiving emails from “Mac@*****i.com” claiming that my MacBook was found and asking me to click a button to locate it. I'm wondering if anyone else has received emails from this sender and if it's a scam.

That is a scam.
The only legit way to locate any Apple Device is with the FindMy app or using https://icloud.com/find.

No idea! That’s the weirdest part of the story. Maybe they have access to a database of leaked info. I also contacted Apple support team and they confirmed that it is a scam.

This type of phishing attempt (via SMS) is unfortunately a too common occurrence for iPhones where the crooks obtain the phone number from the SIM before it’s cancelled …
… but never heard of the technique being used via eMail for a stolen Mac.
Remain vigilant.
This attempt unfortunately will likely not be the last; and they may in-fact mature in sophistication. 👋
