How do you adjust the volume of the ringtone in Unitron Bluetooth hearing aids?

My husband's ears get blown out every time he receives a phone call...the ringtone is so loud. All the volume adjustments don't seem to affect it...It's loud if the volume is all the way up or all the way down. What are we doing wrong?

Adjusting the ringtone volume on Unitron Bluetooth hearing aids can be tricky because the volume settings on your iPhone might not directly affect the ringtone volume on the hearing aids.

See if any of the following can help:

I suggest you start by checking the Hearing Aid app settings on the iPhone:

  • Open the Unitron app on the iPhone.
  • Navigate to the settings for the hearing aids.
  • Look for options related to notifications or alerts and adjust the volume settings there if available.

Next check the iPhone's Accessibility Settings:

  • Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  • Tap Accessibility.
  • Scroll down and select Hearing Devices.
  • If not already, enable: Hearing Aid Compatibility (You may find that disabling this setting may help in this case.)
  • Check if there are any settings related to ringtone or notification volumes and adjust accordingly.

Next go to the iPhone's Control Center:

  • Swipe up from the bottom of the iPhone screen to open the Control Center.
  • Adjust the volume slider here and test if it impacts the ringtone volume on the hearing aids.

Hearing Aid Software Update:

Ensure that the firmware on your husband’s hearing aids is up to date.

Pairing and Re-Pairing:

Try unpairing the hearing aids from the iPhone and then pairing them again. This can sometimes reset the connection settings and help with volume control issues.

If none of these steps work, I suggest that you contact Unitron customer support or visit an audiologist who can provide more specialized assistance.
