iPhone pro max completely dead

Did you try a Forced Restart?

1. Press and quickly release the volume up button
2. Then immediately press and release the volume down button
3. Then immediately press and KEEP HOLDING the side power button. KEEP HOLDING it and KEEP HOLDING it until you see the Apple Logo, the let go

While it might have been “New to You” it certainly wasn’t recently purchased from Apple.

Apple hasn’t sold new 14 Pro Max iPhones since iPhone 15 was released last September.

An iPhone carries a 1-year warranty which can be optionally extended.
