Apple Family group issues

My ex has moved to Portugal but is still registered in the US for our Apple Family group. However, my daughters and I are not able to purchase any apps because it says we need payment method verified, but won’t let us add our own payment methods. He is also not able to share the Apple Card in his wallet. What should I do so that my 2 daughters and I can make Apple purchases?

You have a few options:

You can leave the Family group, and set up your own with your own payment method, and transfer your daughter's over to it.

You can ask your ex to add a payment method to the family sharing group himself. He should be able to add his Apple Card to his Apple ID, assuming his Apple Id is the Family Organizer ID.

You can redeem gift cards to your daughter's accounts and make purchases using the gift card balance, though this may still require a verified payment method be added to the Family Organizer account.
