iCloud emails on my android won't open.

I can log in and display my iCloud emails (on my Samsung S23 Android phone) but they won't open when I click on them. It's not the keyboard because I can compose a new e mail. This has never happened before. How do I fix this?

Things just got weirder!

Had a hunch and tried hooking up my wireless keyboard to the phone and it works in both modes, mobile as well as desktop.

Both browsers that weren't working before (Chrome and Samsung Internet).

So, everything works with external keyboard.

I'm gonna forget the bluetooth keyboards and reboot the phone and let yall know if it fixes the issue.

I have a newly purchased S23

Tap to open icloud email does not respond.

Finger hold to scroll down deleted 4 emails that were not even opened!

I was unable to recover one of them.

Suggestions to hold to reply works to see the body of content but attachments cannot be opened.

Given the unexpected deletion without opening anything I'd say, do not risk hacks to open mail. As the normal behaviour to use is unpredictable.

Interestingly there is something weird going on with mac.com email on Outlook on Android too. It is only showing one or two mails for the previous day and only one for the previous week. I know there are more mails as I can see them on cloud.com and if you add the mac.com email address to Gmail app you can see them on there. I don't think it's an android problem per se, I think it's the way Apple have made a change to mac.com / me.com / icloud.com email and they haven't tested it on Android. All my other email accounts work.

This helped me figure out what to do on my phone, Pixel 7a.

In Mobile view, tapping on the > on the right hand side of the email opened it. But when I return to the inbox that method didn't work again. Otherwise I'm hitting reply and reading the emails that way but none of the active links work nor can you press and hold to see what the link is.

I've tried to add iCloud to my Google mail account list, using the app specific password, but no combination of port and protocol works.

It's a shame, they were playing so nicely together until this year.

I have exactly the same problem. "Deleting the icloud account" doesn't make sense. I am using the browser on android Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra to view icloud email (https://icloud.com/mail/) so it is not the account. Everything else is working, I can reply to the message, I can forward it, but I can't open it. It is definitely something that has changed in the last couple of weeks.

The two finger tap doesn’t always work and for me it’s more like a three finger punch. Nevertheless less it’s still awkward and frustrating and a mystery as to why it manifested as a problem after being “normal” on the phone for a good while. What changed? Why no fix for this apparently common issue with iCloud on Android…does this mean I need to get an iPhone?

It is simply Apple's sick attempt at making androids look less functional than their phones. There is literally no other reason why. I just recently bought the Galaxy A35 5G and I can't open a single email from icloud. Apple is already in trouble with a lot of governments because of the way their system works but the real way to change things is to boycott apple. But of course your average apple user is so brainwashed and fixed on "iPhOnE cAmErA bEtTeR RawRrRr". Best thing to buddy, transfer over everything important over to another cloud storage, change your emails, and leave Apple in the dust.

Sincerely, Android User

Hello,

I too am having the same issues of trying to access my icloud email on my new android device, samsung galaxy 24 ultra. I have tried adding the icloud account to gmail (even with the app specific password) but this does not work. I keep getting a message about the security settings. I tried accessing my icloud through my web browser on the samsung and at least was able to log in and view my inbox but I cannot open any emails! This is my primary email and so it will be a pain if I cannot access!

Please help!!

Joanie
