Battery showing incorrect information including charging symbol

My phone is not ever going up or down in battery (in turn staying at 2 percent) but I get the "10 percent left" and "20 percent left" messages, it is also not showing the charging symbol even when it is plugged in and charging, how do I fix this. I am aware it is most likely only a visual bug
