Wife’s name required in app store
When I try to buy an app the App Store displays my wife’s name and require her password. I’ve struggled with this for years

What Apple ID is being used for the App Store. Seems like at some point the Apple ID was shared and is still logged in to your device.
Go to Settings ➜ Apple ID ➜ Media & Purchases and verify the Apple ID is yours.
Note, that any Apps downloaded with her Apple ID at any point, for any reason, will remain permanently tied to her account and will require it to update always. You would need to delete said apps, and re-download them with your own account.
