MacBook Air M1 charging

What do people think of this very redacted Apple support transcript after enquiring about using a 120W GaN charger?:

Jan

Got it and for charging your Apple devices, Apple encourages you to only use Apple certified chargers and cables, or preferably the same charger that came with the unit to avoid encountering any issues in the future.

Me

Just to confirm the this MacBook can never utilise over 30W input charging power?

Jan

No, it can utilize higher wattage however, it is ideal to use only 30W power adapter since the device model do have a built-in 49.9-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery.

Me

No risk of damage using higher input?

Jan

That we can't guarantee in the long-run.

There is nothing complicated; this link is the official word, and explains all you need to know→Fast charge your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro - Apple Support. You can always use a higher capacity power source than the minimum, as the charge rate is regulated by a “charger” built into the MacBook. BUT it must be either an Apple power source or an Apple certified 3rd party USB-C/PD specified power source. So if you can find a 120 watt that meets these requirements you can use it. But why take a chance with a $2,000 computer?
