I have taken a free trial of the Apple TV app out and downloaded onto my Mac laptop. My main reason from trialling was because I travel a lot and want to be able to download programmes to my Mac. I used to use BBC but they have stopped allowing downloads to Mac. I'm trying to download to test this out but there is no download button coming up for me - any ideas?

The Apple TV+ subscription (free trial or paying) is just for Apple TV+ content, not content from other catalogs or providers.

For downloading BBC content, use the iPlayer app on phones (iPhones) or tablets (iPads).
The BBC has ended downloads on computers, for Windows PCs as well as Macs.

In the Apple TV app on macOS 14.5, hover the mouse pointer over an episode tile. Find the (⋯) More button in the bottom right corner of the tile. Click it for the contextual menu. Choose Download to start downloading that episode. When completed, that download should be available offline as well.
