Why did my iPhone Home Screen apps and folders disappear?

I had easily 70+ apps on my Home Screen, all personally added to a multitude of folders and rearranged in a way that made it very easy to find everything and all one the one page on my Home Screen. I added a second screen of two giant widgets. It lasted like 2 hours, and I go back to check my phone AND IT’S ALL GONE??? The widgets remained, but all my folders have vanished, along with the apps in them. Do I really have to go back and search each app, add it back to my Home Screen, then restart my folder collection all over again?

I possibility is that one Home Screen is hidden. See the information in Organize the Home Screen and App Library on your iPhone - Apple Support including the following:

With iOS 14 and later, you can hide pages to streamline how your Home Screen looks and add them back whenever you want. Here's how to hide a page:

Touch and hold an empty area on your Home Screen.
Tap the dots near the bottom of your screen.
Tap the circle under the page that you want to hide.
Tap Done.

To unhide a page, repeat the steps above. Then use the App Library to quickly find apps hidden on different pages.
