Should I back up anything from my old iPhone to new before exchanging it?

I just purchased a new iphone 15 Pro from the Apple store, replacing my iphone X. I picked up the phone at the store and they transferred everything to the new phone for me.

They sent me a trade-in kit.

1) Since everything is now on my new iphone, do I need to back up anything from my old phone before I send it in?

2) What do I need to remove from my old phone before sending it in, and how do I do it?

Sorry to be so dense...I found info online but it seemed to be for people who are doing their own transferring.

I would just reset the phone. I don’t think that you need to back anything up unless you want to. Resetting an iPhone: go to settings, click on general, scroll down until you get to transfer or reset iPhone and follow the on screen instructions.

Yep, the script Hello” is THE definitive indicator that the phone has been “wiped” and restored to it’s “just out of the box” condition.

What worries me is that the 2 phones seem to be connected. I just took a couple of photos with the new phone and they are now on the old phone too.

I sure don't want to remove things from the old phone and have them disappear from the new phone!

That’s because they are both still connected to your Apple ID and are staying synchronized.

Step 4 disconnects your old phone from your AppleID.

Once it’s disconnected, nothing you do on your old phone CAN POSSIBLY impact your AppleID or your new phone.

I think I'm all set.

Now my old iphone X just says Hello in many different languages.

And it is not listed on the new phone under my devices.

Time to box it up and send it out!
