Was the icloud smtp relay down on July 28, 2024

Does anyone know if there was an outage in the iCloud SMTP relay yesterday? My email from icloud would be sent to the proper smtp server, but people weren't receiving it. I tested multiple times from Thunderbird, Mail on my iPad, and webmail. I even used another Apple ID (I use it for the apps I develop for a client), created another iCloud email address, and that account wouldn't deliver. This is very disconcerting, as I have been using the iCloud address in business with my active clients, and it's serious if I can't depend on it to send my email. It is sending the mail I sent today, but yesterday's email appears to have gone into a black hole.

As we have all learned recently, every internet system can fail.


Private Relay was down sometime over the weekend/last week. It's also possible that it didn't come up for everyone at the same time.

Private Relay was down sometime over the weekend/last week. It's also possible that it didn't come up for everyone at the same time.

Unfortunately, none of us here in this user-to-user forum can actually look at your account to see what's going on. That's something only Apple Support can do.


If you don't have the time for that, all I can suggest is that you resend everything you think didn't go through along with a note that, due to technical difficulties, you're not sure if things went through and apologizing for any possible duplicates.
