Apple does not allow legal adults to access features like cross-app tracking until up to a year after they become legal adults
After running the gauntlet (holds, forwards to different reps, etc) I was told by a senior support tech that apple runs checks for Apple ID accounts on the 1st of January, and that check doesn't run any other time. What this means is, although I'm 18 (the legal adult age in my country), I am unable to access features like cross-app tracking. There's no way other than creating a new 18 year old account to access these features, which is an issue. I had to change the way my EBAY account works so that APPLE's hardware will let me use one of the largest e-commerce apps in the world. I have friends that had similar issues with other large apps including Fetch and pretty much anything that allows you to "Sign in with Google". YES, Apple, I know that I should just "Sign in with Apple" but I think that the reason for this is not predatory garden trimming to keep those walls looking prim, its just simple oversight. Is there any way others have resolved this? I assume a resolution would be as simple as placing a "check this Apple ID for privilege changes" button hidden in settings, or automatically checking on the given birthday of an Apple ID user. Until then, do I tell my friends what I was told? "Tough luck"?
P.S. The main reason I posted this is so that people don't have to crawl through the support team and wipe all settings on their device. Hope this doesn't happen to you!
