Recently updated to iOS 17.6, so far I’ve had my mobile network connection stop working 2-3 times while out running errands. Both times it showed coverage but would not work unless I toggled my network on and off. Since then I’ve done a network reset and my hope is that it solves the issue, but have not been able to test it for sure.
Frustrating either way.

That’s exactly what’s happening with mine after the update.
They pretty much tell you exactly what you know you should do. Take slow steps.

After the last couple of updates, I've had issues with no longer connecting to my network. I was knocked out again after the 17.6 and carrier updates. What finally resolved it (so far, knock on wood) was getting a new SIM card.
I updated my phone to the iOS 17.6 .. I started having network issues to where it wouldn’t connect with my carrier. I tried everything even a full factory reset. Where it ended up just locking me out. I got annoyed and just ended up upgraded my phone since I had one and I haven’t updated this one to the iOS 17.6 .. hopefully they can figure out & solve the problem already!!
I've had similar issues, but largely with wifi. It stays connected to wifi, but all internet traffic stopped until I shut off wifi. Once I turn wifi back on then it works for awhile.
You need to remove all the SIM cards and then reinstall them. If you have a physical SIM card, try using it on another phone. Sometimes, SIM cards get corrupted in some updates.
