iOS 17.6 Network Issues

Recently updated to iOS 17.6, so far I’ve had my mobile network connection stop working 2-3 times while out running errands. Both times it showed coverage but would not work unless I toggled my network on and off. Since then I’ve done a network reset and my hope is that it solves the issue, but have not been able to test it for sure.

Frustrating either way.

It sounds like you've already taken some good initial steps by resetting your network settings. Here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. **Check Carrier Settings**: Make sure your carrier settings are up to date. Go to Settings > General > About. If an update is available, you'll see an option to update your carrier settings.

2. **Toggle Airplane Mode**: If the issue occurs again, try toggling Airplane Mode on and off. This can sometimes quickly reset your network connection.

3. **Restart Your iPhone**: A simple restart can sometimes resolve network issues.

4. **Reinsert SIM Card**: Remove your SIM card and reinsert it to ensure it's seated properly.

5. **Contact Your Carrier**: If the issue persists, it might be a problem with your carrier's network. Contact your carrier to see if there are any known issues or if they can provide further assistance.

6. **Check for iOS Updates**: Occasionally, new updates are released to address bugs. Keep an eye out for any new updates that might fix this issue.

If the problem continues despite these steps, you may want to contact Apple Support for further assistance.

I encountered the problem after a software update where both my eSIM and physical SIM cards were damaged. To fix this, I had to remove both SIM cards and reactivate them. Just deleting the eSIM card and reactivating it didn't work.

Unfortunately, I couldn't reuse the damaged physical SIM card and now need to replace it with a new one. The physical SIM card was for a roaming network, and obtaining a replacement will require me to travel back to my home country. This replacement is estimated to cost around $400. This is an important issue for me because all my OTP and login verifications come to that SIM card.

I believe the software update is the only reason for this problem. Thank you APPLE for putting me in this situation!

I am having the same issues since updating to version 17.6 on my Pro Max 14 Iphone on Tuesday night. Many apps would not load and would say no internet connection even though I had a strong signal. My husband's phone and all computers were working fine. The apps are starting to reload but slowly. Even had problems with Apple maps....couldn't find even specific addresses. Has anyone had luck correcting this problem? I was thinking of going to the Apple store for help.

I understand that in some cases it isn't always the update but if you read other responses the update was usually done overnight. In the morning the phones were wacky. Most said that the phone message there was no internet connection even though other devices in the home (phones and computers) had no problems and the bar indicator was strong. Also, the apps were not responding. Since so many of us had this exact same issue it has to be the update. I appreciate your trying to offer advice, but in this case you are incorrect.

I recently updated my 11 pro max to iOS 17.6. I have Verizon since then I will constantly lose service celluar data will not work. I can make phone calls and receive them however sometimes I can hear the person on the other end sometimes I can’t and usually the person I’m calling can’t hear me. However if I call via Talkatone which is a cellular data/wifi calling app calling works perfectly I can hear who I talk to and they can hear me. When I call on FaceTime audio or video connection I again have no problems. I’ve been using the Talkatone app to make and receive calls as it works with or with out Wi-Fi but when I’m calling people it’s not my normal phone number it’s the number assigned by the Talkatone app. My regular sms and iMessage seems to be working fine with my carrier. Apple has been no help they state it’s my carrier, my carrier “Verizon” states it’s apple or my phone. I know it has something to do with the update. There is no other explanation. Apple needs to fix this bug.

I have tried everything from network reset to hard reset factory reset etc. I also can’t use my electric sim for some reason either since this update happened. Apple ran diagnostics and nothing shows up.

when someone finds out how to fix this please respond.

I have also encountered the same cellular network issue. After updating to version 17.6 last night, I noticed that my phone was disconnected from both eSIM cellular networks this morning. Everyone around me using physical SIMs has excellent network coverage, but my iPhone 15 Pro Max shows a "No Service" message, making it practically useless. I purchased this phone in December 2023, and it was working properly until the 17.6 update. Before the update, it was fine.

I have the same issue. Hotspot connection is failing in general. Since 17.5.1 update. before that no problem at all.

In general after indeed toggling network on and of and resetting the iphone with 'reset connections' I get it working but not always. Sometimes I just go in airplane modus on and of and then the connection is on again.

It is realy annoying and costing a lot of working time. Apple do something soon!!!

Thanks
