Hi, I’m unclear what the issue is with the Watch. Is the issue the charging of the Watch to 80%? If so, that a feature of Apple Watch and it’s enabled by default. You can switch it off, but it may shorten the overall life of the Watch’s battery.

Please review the information in the Apple Support article I linked below. It explains the benefits of the various charging features and you decide for yourself what will fit your needs the best.

I don’t understand the fading part of the issue. Can you explain in more detail what’s faded and how it’s effecting your Watch?

You’re assuming facts that aren’t in evidence. We don’t even know that water has adversely affected your Watch. All Apple Watches have internal methods of detecting water intrusion. Until your Watch is inspected by Apple, your Watch is covered for defects in materials and workmanship.

If you just want to throw $400 away, that’s your prerogative. If you live near an Apple Retail Store you can make an appointment to have your watch examined and possibly replaced.

You can also send your Watch to Apple for possible repair or replacement. If you’re in the US please call 1-800-MY-APPLE or outside the US, consult the support article below.

They can’t see it through the internet or phone any better than I can. The only way to determine if water has caused any damage is by physical examination. It could be two people or a hundred. It needs to be physically examined.

If an Apple Store is not convenient, it can be shipped to Apple for evaluation. Apple can arrange the shipping if you call them.

You can send the Watch in for evaluation and possible repair or replacement. It’s impossible to determine over the phone if a Watch has water damage. Evaluation is free and you’re under no obligation to have the watch repaired. I just don’t understand why you’re so eager to write off $400. 😀 If you just don’t want to fool with getting it evaluated and possibly fixed or replaced, at least give to a relative or friend and let them get a free watch. But to each their own and I wish you the best.
