I just purchased a brand new Apple TV 4k 2022 for my parents not even 2 weeks ago and at first there was an app store & netflix was there but I turned it on yesterday and suddenly there's no more app store and no netflix instead there's a list of 20 available tv apps like Amazon Prime Video but no Netflix anywhere.
Not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that we activated a Apple TV Free Trial subscription. Either way this is really annoying I'm considering returning the thing.

For some it would be “in perpetuity” i.e. forever. 🤓
So my 1984 IBM PC/XT should be able to run Windows 11🤣

I want to run iOS on my Newton!

Yes, Yes! I just took out mine, and it still works! Give me iOS 18!
I don't think I was as entranced by a piece of technology as I was by the Newton until the Apple Watch came out.

A television set built in the 1930s (a Marconi EMI model 706 904) was still working as of 2009, which is a little over 70 years, so my answer is 70 years.
There are plenty of 2nd and 3rd generation AppleTVs still working today, so I’d say that Netflix (and Apple for that matter) should support them as long as the hardware is still working.

For-profit companies will support something for as long as it makes money for them to do so. When the cost of maintaining and supporting the software exceeds the money the make from it, they will stop. You may not like Capitalism (it certainly has some huge flaws) but it is the system we have.
My Netflix app also dissapeared, and get it that it is now off the market, but I cannot mirror from my apple phone toy tv anymore?
My Netflix,Hulu, youtube dissapeared from my apple tv since august 1st, is anyway to recover it ? Without to buy a new apple tv ?
Prime still works!
Netflix again makes decisions that harms their customers' experience. I'm not at all surprised.

Oh no! Keep my Newton vintage!
But why can't I stream Netflix on it?

Hardware!
Along with the Netflix app disappearing, the ability for me to connect to Apple TV disappeared as well. My Apple TV doesn’t show up on the screen mirroring screen.
