Issues with login screen on new apple MacBook Pro - sketch?

Hi folks. I got a refurb iPhone and used my appleid from the phone on my MacBook too for FaceTime etc. I set-up my MacBook Pro and only linked to the net once. Set-up my user photo to a rainbow clipart. When I went to login some days later for the second time the user photo was my photo from my iPhone with a password area that was just the the password box and up arrow thingy. No question mark to offer a hint etc. It seemed odd so I turned it off then on again and it showed the right user image of the rainbow clipart. Is this possibly sketchy and I should re-set this new machine? Thanks! I tried calling Apple but I seem to work during their open hours.
