Macbook overheating when using Chrome.

Whenever I use Chrome, my macbook overheats and I have to close the browser, after which the Macbook immediately cools down. I saw on the previous post advice to turn off the Memory, Power, and Speed settings on Chrome. I have but the problem persists. I don't want to switch to a new browser, is there a way to fix this? Is Chrome effectively incompatible with Macbook?
