How to fix a dark MacBook Pro screen?

Hi my MacBook Pro screen is almost totally black but when I shine a light close up to the screen I can barely se what ever I’m doing on the Mac. At first I thought that my Mac was broken and I tried all kinds of keyboard commands but nothing worked but now I realize that the computer works but it’s something wrong with the screen. Please help guys I haven’t spilled anything on it. Just happens for no reason..
