Wireless charge iPhone 15 with new Nissan Qashqai

I just got my new Nissan Qashqai NConnecta. I put the iPhone 15 on the charger surface and apparently it starts charging. However after a while I found out that the charge stopped due to excesive heat on the iPhone. I am using the Apple magsafe case.

Anyone with a similar experience?

iPhone 15, iOS 17

It has gotten to the point where I do not even bother with wireless chargers in vehicles for this exact reason. The only manufacturer I have found that does not microwave your phone while charging in the car is Tesla (I am sure there are others, just have not heard of or experienced any). But my BMW just cooks my phone for 20 minutes for a mediocre 3% charge. Not worth it.

I would avoid wireless chargers in cars at all costs as excessive heat can damage your phone.

If you are adamant about a wireless charger in your car, look into something that plugs into the cars USB ports and secures your phone while charging. This will prevent long term damage to your phone by mitigating heat.

With that said, avoid those vent mounted holders for your phone as well. If you ever have your phone in front of it while blasting hot air, you'll also have negative side effects.

Thank you for your comment!

I had the chance to discuss this with a local Nissan service center yesterday. They said they recall a similar case with the previous Nissan version and an iPhone 14. They weren't able to find a solution at that time but he said that the affected customer told him that an automatic update (Nissan sw or Apple sw, he was not precise about this) made it work again.

Anyway, I basically agree with your advice: there is a high risk to damage the phone. I will add a note here if I find a solution at some point.
