I can’t get dictation with texting on my iWatch to work.

I’ve made sure that I’ve enabled dictation and Siri is also enabled in settings on my iWatch I have even powered off and powered back on my iPhone and my iWatch and the microphone icon lights up orange but it doesn’t take any dictation when I talk to my watch. Only works on my iPhone.

Using dictation without enabling Siri? I'm wondering if it is possible to turn on dictation without enabling Siri on my watch or any other devices. I would like to be able to text on my watch without typing on the tiny keyboard or drawing with my fingers, which is problematic especially when it is raining. However, I also find Siri irritating since its listening is frequently triggered by accident no matter which activation method I use, and apart from that, I'm not interested in having my conversation transcripts recorded and sent them to Apple. Is there any way to enable dictation for texting without enabling Siri?

Missing option for dictation in messages on Apple Watch Series 11 I have a new watch 11 and am on IOS26. My new watch doesn’t have an option for voice to text dictation on messages. My only options are scribble and type. Interestingly, the microphone icon appears and works for the notes app. I have tried everything: turning dictation on and off, ensuring language is consistent on phone and watch, Siri setting, message settings and even a full hard reset. iPhone 16 switch disables Apple Watch Dictation After switching to an iPhone 16 with iOS 18.1, my wife's watch suddenly stopped having the ability to respond to iMessages through dictation. There simply is no microphone option visible in the reply bar. How would one correct this problem?
