Messenger on Mac keeps adding UK Country Code +44

If I get a group text, it puts a +44 on every number, so it does not recognize who it is, and I can't reply back.

It used to just add a +44 when I tried to text someone (I could only text the first time using my phone), but now it is adding it to new texts sent to me. How do I fix this, it is very annoying!

The texts show up fine on my phone. I have set the country the the united states in my contacts, but that does not help.

After hours of working on this and going through other people with this issue, I think I finally got it to work. In my icloud, I had the country/Region to the United states, but had the language to English uk. I changed it to English US, but it did not work even after restarting my computer until I logged out of my apple id inside messages>settings>iMessages, and then logged back in.

Hopefully this will help someone.
