iphone 15 live photos keeps turning on by itself

On my iphone, my camara keeps reverting to live photos. I have gone to settings, camera, preserve setting and unlinked (so the button is grey) the camera mode, but it keeps reverting to live photos. i have also clicked the "live photo" mark on top right when taking a photo, that photo does not go to Live, but after a few hours ( i haven't actually timed it), if i take a photo it reverts to "live". Why? Even after I use the camera>preserve> Live photo, set so that Live does not turn back on! You got any more bright ideas Apple? I've been buying Iphones since they first came out because of their reliability, but this is the LAST Iphone I buy. I'm going back to android!

You use "Preserve Settings" to keep the settings from changing. So the Settings>Camera>Preserve Settings>Live Photo should be on, green. Then, in the Camera app, at the upper right, turn off Live Photos-- it should have a slash through the icon.

Preserving the Setting will mean that the next time you use your camera, Live Photos will still be off.
