Apple TV won’t retain my id
On my Samsung smart tv, every time I start the Apple TV app I get the QR code and am told my password is required.
does the QR method valid for only one session?

It is intended that the last used Apple ID stays active between sessions, possibly indefinitely, unless you sign out, or reset the app, or delete the app (if supported on your device). Quitting/closing the app shouldn’t sign you out.
- Please verify in newer system software is available for your TV, and install that if found.
- Try a cold restart of the TV. Not standby-on, but a real restart through the menus or by disconnecting power.
- If the issue persists, then try a reset of the Apple TV app, then sign in again, and see if it sticks between app launches.
- If the issue persists even after that, then please contact the Apple Support staff for further assistance.
