"nvme" is a reference to the SSD.

Your SSD is failing. If you don't have a good backup, then do so now while you still can do so, otherwise you may lose your data since the SSD could fail at any time. The SSD in the MBPro 13" (2016 & 2017) non-touchbar model has an extremely high rate of failure.

While OWC does sell a drop in replacement SSD, I personally do not recommend spending any money on this laptop for a number of reasons due to well known & even some lesser known hardware issues. The money spent on this laptop would be better spent going towards a replacement laptop.

People should always have frequent and regular backups of their computer and all external media (including the cloud) which contains important & unique data. There are a lot more new ways to permanently lose access to the data on an internal SSD of the recent Macs due to all the hardware, software, and security changes.

That points to a problem that occurred with your HD. I would definitely make sure you have a good backup of any valuable files. There are a couple of free tools you can use for further diagnostics.
