Where did the Camera Roll go in iOS 18

I do NOT like what Apple did to the Photos in iOS 18... I can not find the Camera Roll. Closest is Recent Days, but it does not show all the pictures that were on the Camera Roll. I have to use a third party app on my PC to see the photos. I think Apple screwed up somewhere. Come on Apple, put Camera Roll back the way it used to be and the way it should be.

I found it... I re-read razmee209 first reply to me and he said Camera app.

Open the Camera app and in the bottom left corner is a small picture beside the click button, tap on that small picture, once opened, it doesn't say Camera Roll, which would be helpful if it did, and all the Camera Roll pictures are there and if you tap the All Photos at the top, your entire library would show.

It'll take time to get used to it after all the years the Camera Roll was in Photos.

Bottom line is, I think a lot of people complaining like me have a workflow that has been up-ended by the new Photos app. As usual Apple has optimized their photos app to serve lemmings that upload their photos to iCloud and trust Apple to organize everything on their iPhone. Not me. My photos mean too much to me.

Bottom line is that no one here can do anything to change what Apple did. And calling people "lemmings" because they make a different choice than you is rude.

With 5 pages on this controversy, in 3 days, how many of you have sent feedback to Apple complaining to bring back Camera Roll or the most recent (Recents) or saying how great Photos is in iOS 18? The more complaining people do about this, the better the chances are of having it come back. I have sent in mine. I wonder what the best way to keep track would be?

I typed in sept 10 2024 to Search and got pictures from a week ago. What exactly happens when you do that?

That doesn't work for me as more than half my photos were scanned and synced with my iPhone and I remove all EXIF info for anonymity.

Change the "Sort By" from "Rank" to "Oldest" (or "Newest").

Duh... so that's what that is for...thanks :)

Hmmm... keeps going back to Rank when I reload this page... even changed it in Preferences.

Please do not post false information. I have been an iOS user since the beginning. Even at version 17 of iOS, the name “Camera Roll” has still been in use.

Actually, APPLE has not used the term Camera Roll since iOS 13. That is a FACT. Some user have used the term “camera roll” loosely, but that is not a term that Apple uses.

I have same issue: back up fotos on my PC and sync back. The camera roll is used for non-synced photos only. I guess most people are not that organized and don't get any use out of the camera roll folder. But why do those who have order in their photos have to be disorganized? The new photo app is not organized, it's chaos! Apple, please bring back the camera roll!

It truly is awful. Which genius thought it would be a good idea to replace the day/month/year feature with just “days”. And no, the search /filter does not help when you are trying to look for a photo taken sometime at the beginning of 2008…. We now have two dozen different ways to look for photos and NOT ONE is an improvement on the old version.

Have you told Apple?

I think the redesign of Photos is fantastic and I've told Apple so.
