The apple tv remote keeps coming up on my lock screen and I don't really use my phone to control my apple tv. Is there any way to get rid of it automatically popping up? I even tried to forget device via my Apple TV but still did not work.

I can’t take credit for this, but found this on Reddit and is the only thing I’ve seen that fixes this…
On lock screen tap on Apple TV logo on right side, then scroll to bottom of list and tap on Control other speakers devices, then tap on iPhone at the top. This will remove the prompt for the Apple TV and disappear if you do not have any media playing on your iPhone.
Has anyone found a viable solution for this?
Still didn't work. Not sure why it keeps popping up. I even put forget device for my iphone from the apple tv settings. I even turned off notifications as another user put it. It's rather annoying that it just keeps popping up every time I'm watching tv.
I think I figured it out. You need to forget the device (iPhone) from the Apple TV. On the Apple TV, go to settings, remotes, select the iPhone and “forget” it.
The original post is about how to remove it from automatically coming up on the lock screen. The solution I described fixes this issue but does not inhibit the use of the Remote functionality on the phone when needed.
I tired every suggestion in here and nothing works. But it looks like turning off your iPhone bluetooth actually works
Here is the solution:
Navigate to Settings, then...
General > Airplay & Continuity > Automatically AirPlay > Never
Nope, that doesn't work. Nothing works.
The remote control user interface always appears on the iPhone when streaming something on the Apple TV...
My elderly mom and my brother live in the same house, and both have an Apple TV 4k on the same network and Apple Family account.
She have already twice connected her iPhone to my brothers ATV, once turned his tv on late at night...
This is not good!
There just HAS to be a possibility to turn this feature off!!
On the Lock Screen touch and hold on the screen to bring up the Customize option. Tap on the Lock Screen from the 2 cards you see, and then tap on the (-) sign next to the Apple Remote icon.
You can leave the icon blank, or touch it again to add a different icon there.

That's an alert. Not an icon. You should be able to swipe it to the left all the way to get rid of it.
go to settings > apps > tv > Apple intelligence & Siri
once there under suggestions turn off “show on Home Screen”

Same issue and none of the workarounds worked for me. Removed all devices from Apple TV settings - Remotes. Turned off Live Activities for Apple TV on my phone too. Still popping up. I know I can swipe it away but I DONT WANT IT TO POP UP IN THE FIRST PLACE!
I may have just found a solution... This worked on my device (iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 18.0.1...)
After reading through this knowledge base I decided to try a manual restart on my phone in case it was a software glitch, and the Apple Remote left my Lock Screen upon restart.
Press and release: Volume Up, Volume Down; Press and Hold the Lock button until the device powers down.
Like I said, upon restart my Lock Screen was fixed. I hope this helps!

It’s a Control called Remote in the Control Center causing this. Swipe down on upper right corner of iPhone to reveal the Control Center. Tap and hold in an empty area of the screen. Tap the — symbol on the Remote icon that looks like the Apple TV remote to remove it from the Control Center.
