iPhone battery draining after iOS 18 Update

After updating to ios 18 my iphone 15 pro battery is draining very fast and have to charge like 3 times a day. And even just after the update restart the battery health reduced from 100 to 90 ..mine is just 6month old phone ..@Apple team please fix this immediately

I have IPhone 14pro and after the upgrade my battery life is -3% , it was 100% after 11 months of using it. My battery is draining like crazy! It’s madness! I can’t get a full day without charging it and I got day and a half before the update !

I am using iPhone 15 pro max and after I updated it to iOS 18, my device battery is draining drastically, previously I have to charge it once a day but now with my same daily routine I have to charge atleast twice a day.

It’s not about getting one to up-grade. Just upgraded to iPhone 16 running iOS 18. My old phone was an iPhone 11 running iOS 17.6. Never realized how good I had it battery wise. Maybe I got lucky, cause the old phone would hold its charge for 2 days before needing a recharge. Though after 5 years i was having to recharge it every night.

So, I decided to up grade. I needed 5G anyway. This new phone sucks power, about 6% per every hour of active use. Either I have a defective battery or Apple needs an update to iOS 18.

Yep, I have a 12 Pro Max, since iOS 18 I too have notice significant battery drain.

I don't use my phone that often and I'm not a heavy camera, Youtuber, TicTok or X user.

No dont iOS 18.01 or 18.02 will correct yet another Apple SW error.

I have a dramatic battery drain after updating to ios18 too, this on iPhone SE and iPad. The iPhone SE empties itself totally not being used in less than a day (!) and the iPad looses 20% just sitting here with cover closed. For some OS that brings only few new functionality this is understandable. This already happened in the past but obviously Apple did not learn from it.

I have been using iPhone 12 since the day of its release. before updating my device to iPhone 12, I had neither issue with the battery draining too quickly nor my device heated and saw heating warning on my screen. 2 days into updating my device to iOS 18, I am facing the heating warning and my iPhone is not charging more than 30%

Me too, before update ios18 my battery health was 98% then suddenly became 96% but after one day using ios18 became 95%. I can charge my phone 2/3 times for 1 day!! Before i just charge for 1 day!! Ios18 draining my iphone 15 so fast!

I have an iPhone 13 pro max, 89% battery health, I was an idiot to update to IOS18. Now the charger is already a necessary accessory when leaving the house or office. I suggest Apple less social progressiveness in promotional materials and more in technology and customer care.

I should’ve read these comments before updating to ios 18. Today I updated and my battery health reduced from 100% to 99%. Mine is brand new iphone 15 pro and have followed every guidelines apple provided to maintain battery health. I should’ve waited for next update

Updated to iOS 18. Worst decision ever. My 13 Pro Max doesn’t even last 8 hours now. Even without using the phone the battery goes down 30%. This never happened on different software updates. I’d unplug my phone in the morning and by 3PM it’s on 20%. I don’t want to buy a new phone either as this one works perfectly! Outrageous.

here the same, my phone keeps the charge and i have the same performance in that part but my battery health is decreasing like ****, i had 100 percent of battery health and now after three days it is 96 percent. its like every day im losing one percent of my battery health.

Same here for iPhone 13 as well for iPad 7. Both devices used to have perfect battery life throughout the day. Since the iOS 18 update the battery life has become terrible. I can't even get through half of the day with my iPhone. The batteries are draining by the minute.

Before update to iOS 18, iPhone 15 Pro used to last for a day and more though I use it to run some app test and stuff for 5+ hrs and phone handles it really well but Now I need to keep charging for every 2 hrs and when i plug it for charge it stops charging at 80 % every time and it say's "Charing stopped because of overheating"

Haven't seen such bad software update from iOS

Other issue list:

1. When you install new app, System needs a restart.
2. When we install app which needs to Trust certificate, system needs a restart.
3. While using app, Screen goes black and spinner widget appears most of the times.
4. Keyboard freezes.

After updating to IOS 18 my battery is draining much faster than before?? Is this due to using colors on the Calendar? And other new and not necessarily wanted features? I was very happy before the new, ‘Bells&Whistles’! Is there a fix on the way?
