No sound on iPhone after iOS 18 Update

Thank you mayak_pgu for the suggestion to Reset All Network settings, this is what worked for me. Since IOS 18 Yahoo email lost its sound. Apple engineer on the phone with me for 5 days, it worked occasionally but then would stop. Meanwhile all my other notification sounds worked as they should until today when I updated to IOS 18.3.1. And then no notification sounds at all. Followed your suggestion and my iPhone is chirping away like it used to, before IOS 18 came into my life.

My sound issue was solved by turning off vocal shortcuts. Worth a shot for other sound issues.

I had the same problem. After trying lots of different things I turned off the Lock Sound switch and turned it back on and the sounds worked.

My sound is back on iPhone 15 PM iOS 18.2.

I went through and toggled ON and OFF Airplane mode, Do Not Disturb, Silent mode several times and restarted a couple of times. Sound is now working. I do not know which one fixed it.

I got my sound back with texts. I went to Notifications, the Messages app, scrolled down to Notification Grouping, chose By App. I tested it and I got my sound alert back!!! I hope that helps you all!!!

Same issue. I paired with my EarPods and turned up volume. Shut off EarPods and speaker worked. DONT turn volume all the way down.

condition: no sound when opening online video

workaround:

1. Pause video and select video volume control.
2. select iPhone option from menu choices

Doing a reset seems to be their go-to solution these days! I refused twice recently and was so glad I did! There’s an update too- 18.0.1. Keep looking through the support pages and call Apple tech support back too

Just some basic inquiries about your volume problem with your phone. Have you updated your phone to 18.0.1? Have you maximized the volume settings under both the Control Center and under Sounds & Haptics in Settings? I have found that sometimes my volume settings are different under these two areas where volume is controlled and it has affected my volume levels in other apps. Just trying to help out.

I am having to same issue. Since Apple doesn’t monitor these discussions, everyone that is affected, please call Apple support and ask a senior Advisor to open a case. The more of us that report this, the sooner Apple will address the issue.

Same. Turning Bluetooth off solves it for me but when I turn on again the problem comes back after 5 minutes or so. I need Bluetooth for my Apple Watch. This happened after installing 18.0.1

A work around that worked for me was To create a new Fokus and then add all Apps and all people. That should work for you aswell

I updated to 18.0.1 and I also still don’t get any notification sound from the Mail app (Gmail account, uses fetch). I read in another forum that someone who has an Outlook account (uses push) updated to 18.0.1 and is now getting notification sounds with the Mail app. I wonder if this is a fetch/push issue. Disappointed because I was really hoping that this update would address this ongoing problem but it didn’t for me.

Apple technical support assigned me a case number and told me that the only solution to fix not getting a mail sound notification is to completely erase my phone and set it back up from scratch (not from a backup)… to fix a mail sound from one of their apps? There must be an easier solution but additional calls to Apple say that this is the only solution.
