As someone who switched to Apple a few years back, I was incredibly excited for the “send later” function (which other brands have had for ages). I update my phone yesterday and go to schedule a message to someone who has an android and realize the functionality only applies to other iPhone users?! Please tell me this is a bug or a glitch?!

No problem, you have many to choose from. Purchase a phone that best meets your needs.

I've lost track of the thread a bit! But if I remember right, I was annoyed that I couldn't schedule-send texts to myself.
Those messages are usually fairly long to-do lists and things like that. The ADHD part of my brain responds really well to both the initial notification--AND to the messages' reappearance every time I'm in the messages app (which is often). So for now, I'm just messaging myself without the scheduling function. I'll check out what apple reminders has to offer. I do use Google calendar for simple reminders, but not so much for longer messages to myself. Thanks.
It’s possible Apple just needs to stop being silly and turn it on, you have been able to do this on Android devices pre and post RCS for years!
Hopefully it’s a bug because it doesn’t make any sense to only work with iPhone. And if a certain setting needs to be turned on they need to let people know how to fix it.

I'm getting the idea from the (seemingly) contentious tone. As for long responses, I type very quickly. Pros/cons.
