iOS 18 Disable Video Looping in Photos App?

I couldn’t agree more. I take great delight in changes that improve apps, but I haven’t found any iPad OS 18 ‘Photos’ changes to be of benefit except the video slider bar. I no longer use my large format iPad OS 18 device for photos, preferring my smaller format iPad OS 17.

I hate the auto looping. I don’t want to keep watching the same video over and over.

Apple is getting too many mandatory settings and features. Just traded in my SE for the iPhone 16 but I guess I’m going to start shopping again.

I agree, this feature being forced on iPhone users without an options is not cool, especially, “I dislike this feature since I often show others videos on my phone and find it very annoying that the video instantaneously loops back to the beginning when it finishes playing.”

Have you also told that to Facebook, Youtube, X/Twitter, Instagram BlueSky, and almost all other apps and sites that show videos?

Normal Youtube videos doesnt auto loop unless you tell it to do so. I know youtube shorts does but thats it. I also wish that could be turned off for youtube shorts. But for videos you have taken yourself and play on your iphone, there should def. be an option to turn this auto loop off.

Agree, I wish I did’t upgrade to iOS 18. The whole Photos app layout is awful IMHO. In addition trying to toggle Bluetooth on and off became a multi-click job 🤦‍♀️ Please, Apple, let’s go back to what was good 😊

Interesting that in 17 years of using iPhones, none of those issues has ever happened to me. I have never turned off Bluetooth for any reason, and all of my BT devices have always worked perfectly.

I think the possible fix, however, is to no longer have this looping, as it has always been.

The looping feature could be introduced in a command in the settings, IF THE USER so desires.

Apple cannot determine that my videos are, on the iPhone, played in a loop.

The situation is even worse! My iPhone 15PRO was stolen: I bought a 16PRO and downloaded the content from iCloud. This looping problem is happening with my previous videos too… I feel like Apple has improperly altered my work!
