iOS 18 Disable Video Looping in Photos App?

Apple, please Disable IOS18 Video Looping in Photos App

The only way I can stop auto-looping is to manually stop each video while it is playing on the screen. Please set Default to Disable. Thank you

I would prefer if there were a setting in photos settings that could enable or disable it similar to the “Auto-Play Motion” setting in photos settings.

That way people who like it can keep it and those who don’t can disable it.

I agree. I use videos for work to present my inspections to customers, and it loses its professionalism and impactfulness when the video loops rather than just finishing. I’d love a toggle in the settings somewhere to turn this on or off.

I hate the looping video. I hate the teeny tiny display that I cannot see. (What happened to Apple’s ADA compliance team?) I hate the duplicate notifications of “comments” on shared photos. What an annoying mess this is. Constantly drawing my attention to this program makes me hate Apple. And I have used it since the beginning. Please restore some semblance of simplicity.

Apparent inability to switch off iOS 18 Photos Auto Looping must be an introduced bug as it is hard to imagine why it would have been introduced intentionally.  The single most annoying aspect of the v18 upgrade.

Apple has made a whole raft of changes to Photos in iOS 18 and, outside of pressing a button before using face ID, I haven’t found a single one which benefits the user over the Photos included in iOS 17.

Buttons have been moved around for no good reason.

Editing is now a lot more crashy.

I didn’t even realise there was a filter option on the main album until I pressed it accidentally and by default it wasn’t on what I wanted, so I couldn’t find pictures I’d added anywhere until then.

The scroll/playing bar on videos regularly does not move in time with the video.

Videos are no longer full screen and easily scrubbable like they used to be.

And no, I absolutely do not want videos to loop, partly because it’s irritating and partly because it isn’t helpful when checking an edit.

These changes are entirely pointless, in some cases buggy, and do not benefit the end user! Fix the leaking roof of features that have needed fixing forever instead of moving the furniture around in the room and calling it a new house!

Why are you telling us? We can't do anything about it. Tell Apple using the Feedback link already provided.

Personally, I like the new version of Photos and find it much more user friendly. I'm not alone.
