Video Playback on iOS 18 is Broken - Video size is small and timeline ends early when setting video to full frame or zooming in. Serious bug.

Spent an hour on phone with Apple Support. Spoke with two reps. Neith had a clue, and neither was helpful. Waste of time. We also did the feedback. That was a waste, as again, no Apple response or help. Apple does not appear to be interested or acknowledge the issue. Don't see Apple jumping on this post, nor the post we started reference videos not transferring to computer with any properties nor thumbnail image. iPhone 14 .mov videos transferred to Windows computer no longer have a thumbnail image or data. But they play. This occurred after late September. All .mov videos prior to early Oct. 9th have data and thumbnail images. This is occurring on our two iPhone 14's, and multiple Windows 10 computers. We have changed nothing, including the process of transferring the videos from the iPhone to the Windows computer. The last video with data, and with a thumbnail is 09/26. The first video in Oct 9th, on to present day, has no thumbnail, not data (length, frame, etc.). I spoke with Apple support, did screen shots, and ended up with no answer or fix. See screen shot.

Apple is very clear on the Feedback page that they don't respond to feedback so I'm not sure why you were expecting they would.

This is a user-to-user forum. Apple employee's primary role is to make sure we all obey the rules. Their posting participation is limited to providing resources for health or safety issue. So, no, you will not see responses from them here on this issue.

I totally DEPEND on the ability to scrub or scroll through videos while zoomed in and moving very slowly to be able to see my son’s football plays. I guess Apple removed this feature, WHY?!?! How do I get it back???

No one here has received any help or response from APPLE. They have not even acknowledged the various issues brought forth here. Is APPLE just ignoring these issues?

Including transferred videos to windows 10/11 computers have no properties and no thumbnails.

I experience the same issue. Not only the picture is extremely small, the constant zooming in and out gives you a headache (when editing a bunch of photos/videos in a raw). All the unnecessary scrolling in the new Photos app makes me dizzy every time.

The new video player in iOS is terrible. They removed scrubbing. They moved the play button to the side so I need two hands to use it. The video doesn’t easily play in full screen. Unbelievable. None of these are improvements. And if you are listening to Spotify when you start a video it no longer mutes Spotify. WTF???

This is an annoying problem that renders video playback manipulation useless, nothing but bad implementation of bad ideas. I’m fed up of these awful changes that breaks the basic usability of the Iphone. This was my first and will be my last Iphone, I’m moving on.

Not the only problems APPLE created with ios18. Has everyone noticed not a peep from APPLE? No APPLE help. No APPLE support. No APPLE acknowledgement of the many issues. Is "this" not Apple???

This is a user-to-user forum hosted by Apple. I'm sure you've read the terms of use you agreed to when you signed up and they explain it all. Users post queries about their Apple devices or Services and other Users offer what help and support they can. This is not an alternative to Apple Support. Apple does extensive beta testing. In fact, you could have even taken part in it.

The new video playback is a significant downgrade. I would not have accepted the update had I known this would have such a negative impact. I’m waiting 30 days before filing a class action. I did not consent to this taking.

I fixed it!!!! My new Samsung phone and Galaxy Watch shipped.

Ive been with iPhone ands the watch since day 1 and after this last IOS update them messed it all up. Photos/editing are a big part of my life and no fix in site and apple never listens to these feedbacks and actually fix them. Apple just cant keep things good and improving to stay on top of things. Im done! Bye
