How do I fix Bluetooth connection issue on my iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 18?

Is anyone experiencing Bluetooth problems like me? After some time, connected devices like Apple Watch disconnects and connects every minute, and new devices that should connect like CarPlay don't even connect. I got this also during beta and tried disconnects and repair, network settings reset and reinstalling from iCloud Backup. Nothing worked, only doing a hard reboot. Then it works for half a day until the bug strikes again. Very annoying....

Please try this. It worked for me.

Turns out is was because the new feature Vocal Shortcut is turned on.

The issue was resolved when i turn the Vocal Shortcut off.

Settings > Accessibility > Vocal Shortcuts, turn it off.

Your solution appears to be working. I was having trouble with both Carplay and BT connection in 2 vehicles and 3 differnt BT speakers in home and office. Also had issues when I would wake up the phone from sleep. All the above scenarios would cause the BT to cut out, seemingly random except waking up the phone or when notifications popped up when sleeping.

I have had drop out problems with Bluetooth connections constantly since iOS 18 I got a new 16 pro max and it started happening immediately cutting out on any Bluetooth connection,so not knowing what’s going on with this I still had my 15 pro max with a updated 18 iOS and it started doing this as well and until the update I use the Bluetooth daily with never a drop out till now, it’s all after the 18 update the 16 pro max only has 18 iOS but regardless it cuts out all the time while using Bluetooth on any Bluetooth connection as well so no question there is a problem with this update !

I have been having the same Bluetooth problems with my Bose QC35 II headphones and new, out of the box, Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones. The will connect for a second and then drop. Additionally I now need to use a cord to run Apple Carplay instead of the cord free option. I performed all of the usual methods to try and fix it: restart iphone, reset the network, forget the headphones and have them rediscovered, turning off the vocal shortcut. I even went to the Apple Store and they blamed it on my headphones after running a diagnostics. Telling me to update to iOS 18, which I did, and the issue is still occuring. Apple WTF, this issue needs to be addressed ASAP!!

Since upgrading to IOS 18, I’ve also been unable to connect to my Bose headphones or my Soundcore earbuds. This issue never occurred with a prior IOS, and started immediately after the upgrade. I’ve tried all of the recommendations here: soft reset of my iPhone, resetting the network settings, “forgetting” my devices and attempting to reconnect, etc. At best, I’ve been able to connect for 30 minutes or less, then it fails again.

This issue is a fundamental one and needs immediate correction. I’m presently using wired earbuds as a stopgap solution. Not acceptable.

This is very annoying and so typical of ios updates. I just bought an iwatch and was told I would have to update my iphone from ios 17 to 18.0.1. I did this, the watch worked fine via bluetooth, but any other bluetooth appliance I had be it headphones or soundbar was not recognized by my iphone any longer. I spent a good 90 minutes with apple support and finally got some of the things to work, but not the Polk soundbar which I often use as a speaker for my iphone.

My Airpods and other wireless speakers connect fine. But my phone will not connect with my Ford Fusion ever since I updated to iOS 18. I have tried several different things I found online/youtube. Turning bluetooth off and on, turning airplane mode off and on. Reset my network. Soft reset. Nothing works. CarPlay will connect but as soon as I try to play music, audiobook, or anything else through the bluetooth connection it disconnects. Many times after that it will disconnect as soon as it reconnects. Very, very frustrating. Very disappointed with Apples help on this issue.

bluetooth issues - severe. BMW can speak but others can’t hear me. I can hear them. General Bluetooth issues with Apple AirPods, low quality. Death zones in house were I don’t have connectivity. I had an iPhone 14 Pro and everything worked fine. Since the switch only troubles. Tried al solutions mentioned. No progres. Anyone else a suggestion?

This problem also has appeared on my iPad Air 5th since mid-November 2024, a few weeks after I updated 18.1. I’m not very sure that the main reason for this is the software update. My situation is, Bluetooth earphones become unsynchronized between the left and right one almost every minute, and then become totally silent for a few seconds. My Bluetooth mouse is also laggy when it happens.

Very annoying. I tried to disconnect my nearby phone from my Windows laptop, turn off Networking option in the location setting, and tried multiple times to connect and disconnect my earphones manually, but they didn't help.

iPhone SE bought this year was updated to iOS 18.1.1 and will not stay connected to a 2025 Buick. All software is updated. I can manually connect via Bluetooth but it immediately disconnects. I’ve unpaired and “forgotten” the phone and car, shut them down and restarted them, and then repaired them and they still do not stay connected. I’m having issues with message notifications not working in CarPlay after the update, too. I get no audible notice or any visual unless I’m on the CarPlay screen. I used to get it on any of the car’s screen.
