I've never had touch issues or any issue for that matter, on my 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max. But I know others have and it's always best to update when new updates are released, which many have reported helped with touch issues.

I also urge you to make an appointment to visit an Apple Store and have a Genius look at your device.

You should also try a demo phone on the floor and see whether you have the same issues.

If the demo phone does not, it's something about your phone or configuration, and will also help the Genius diagnose your issue.

I use my 16 PM constantly and have never seen this issue, nor have I ever seen it on a store demo phone.

I’ve been experiencing a frustrating issue with the keyboard. It’s very slow to respond—letters appear on the screen after I’ve already typed them. Sometimes, the keyboard freezes for about 3 seconds, during which nothing I type shows up. After the freeze, everything catches up all at once.

What’s worse is that if I press "Send" during the freeze, it only sends the text typed up to the freeze point, and the rest of what I typed during that period ends up in a new message.

This problem started when I upgraded to iOS 18.0.0. I didn’t have this issue with my iPhone 15 Pro Max before the update, but it has continued even after switching to the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Because of this, I think it’s a software issue.

Those people need to work with Apple to find out why their experience is different from that of millions of others.

I've always stated you need to work with Apple Support, as some here have done, as it's not as simple as something being broken globally in iOS, rather there's some combination that results in issues for some.

Working with support is the only way that will be reproduced at Apple and ultimately resolved.

Take your phone in to be examined; I cannot reproduce anything you cite.

If it's the YouTube app rather than Safari, contact them, their app is broken.

If you would rather return it than deal with Apple Support to solve your issue, feel free, that’s why Apple offers a return period.

Okay thank you! This is literally how I noticed that the 16 pro max has major issues with screen sensitivity.. I first noticed when I am flipping thru stories on Instagram. When I hold my thumb to pause and read, it doesn’t even register my tap and I have to do it again. It did this before I even got a screen protector on it. It’s very frustrating!! I spoke to Apple they said to bring it to an Apple Store.

I should have clarified it. I went with option-iii. Returned for a full refund and repurchased.

had mine exchanged, lucky I had Apple care otherwise I would have been stuck with a dodgy phone. Was sent a Chinese made one.

I experienced the same issue restoring through iTunes step from this guide,resolved it for me. Before the screen was so unresponsive that I couldn’t even type on the keyboard Try this before sending it back to Apple it might save you some hassle!

Yes I’m having the same issue while swiping between the apps and While typing. I will try to update IOS 18.1 Public Beta 1 and see if it is going to fix or not otherwise I’ll have to go to the apple store and fix it.
