iPhone 16 Pro Max Screen Unresponsive

my pro max screen becomes unresponsive on the charger? but works when its off???

I did the update that claimed to fix it and it’s still not working right. Missing keys a lot. It’s so frustrating!!

I thought I was going crazy. Mine has been doing that since I bought it.

Me too i’m having the same problem. If Apple doesn’t fix it soon i’m returning the phone !!! Ughhhh.

I had the same issue, day 1 of my iphone 16 pro max. unresponsive touch/scrool, random reboot, and the keyboard wouldn’t show in apps. (never experience anything like it on my iphone 14 pro max.

it seems to have been fixed by turning the icon/home screen customization completely back to normal - it only does it when i have the icon customization on (specifically large icon and icons set on a green tint).. When i have it just normal small icons, no tint - no issues so far?

Yes, me! And Apple is keeping silent on the issue. They could've at least told us if this was a software issue they plan to fix or a hardware issue so we can return our brand new iPhones. The typing experience on the pro max is abysmal.

Yes I’m having the same issue while swiping between the apps and While typing. I will try to update IOS 18.1 Public Beta 1 and see if it is going to fix or not otherwise I’ll have to go to the apple store and fix it.

I’ve been tried so many different methods to solve the problem but the effective one its to reset the keyboard dictionary its been work for me 85% almost and thank you

on October 1st I reported the same incident to Apple Support in the Netherlands (unresponsive touchscreen). They said: this issue together with the too sensitive sides that activate phone while holding on the sides is being worked on and should get solved with a software update.

As it is also mentioned in the media. Known bug that will be solved. When? Nobody knows.

But as understanding as we can be, how could this have gone so wrong?? This is the absolute first thing you discover when installing your brand new iPhone 16 pro Max that any Apple employee must have experienced themselves!

I am only 5 hours into unboxing and setting this iPhone 16 pro max up and I’m finding that I’m having to double click on apps and letters from the keyboard just to get the phone to pick it up. Such a shame, I hope a system software fixes this asap. I guess I’m not ready to sell my 13 pro Max just yet…

I bought the 16 pro max last week, and omg !

the keypad is killing me !! It’s sooo unresponsive! I have to tap on every letter 2-3 times to finally get it to type !

it’s really annoying me!

the whole phone whether it’s the software or the hardware is laggy! Pls help !

It feels as if the speed is slow, specially delete button and typing again. Swiping on Instagram stories is also slow and sometimes the touch doesnt feel like working with the speed. My 13 pro max was much better.

I have the same issue. The keyboard doesn’t recognize touch, I have to hit the screen hard to make it type. Moreover the battery drain is crazy, even though 16 pro max is claimed to have the best battery.

I upgraded from the 13 thinking it's about time I upgrade. Was going to get the 15 pro but then it was just one more week of waiting and then got the 16 pro. The screen worked fine until I put on the screen protector. Now I have to be cautious when typing. I saved up all that money for this. They did release an update claiming it'll fix the issue but when it installed I'm still having the same issue.
