iPhone 16 Pro Max Screen Unresponsive

I upgraded to 16pro max from 15pro max and noticed immediately how slow the screen was at responding to touch. Feels like you need to be more deliberate in your inputs for it to register.

I have a screen protector but as this is from a quality brand I can’t see that being the issue.

Hopefully a software issue rather than hardware. I have the same issue. Why apple didn’t fix with iOS 18.? I hope it will get fixed in the next software update.

I bought an iPhone 16 pro max 2 weeks ago and immediately noticed that the sensor does not respond well and it is difficult to type on the keyboard, I make a lot of mistakes and it seems like the screen lags. It is impossible to pay so much money for a phone that is impossible to use and by the way I noticed that the screen sometimes blinks

I’m having the same issue brand new just got the phone today. I have done all update I called Apple tech and spoke with them. They were no help.

when typing some of the letters are not registering. And some times scrolling seems like it’s laggy. And unresponsive.

even the talk to text part is really slow to respond. Sometimes .

apple.. yes I have closed all apps turned off Bluetooth Wi-Fi powered off device and back on same result. Even did a complete phone wipe. Followed by restore from the cloud. And same result what is going on. ?? We want answers.

If you have a touch issue which is only happening in some 3rd party apps, yes, contact the App Developers of those apps. Apple has no control over 3rd party applications.

I have that same problem with trying to touch buttons or typing and no response. Also doing voice to text doesn’t work or stops in the middle of a sentence. The most annoying part is when I just cover my finger about half an inch above the screen, without touching it, the screen goes to whatever link might be under my finger. Ready to return it now.

It can happen; it's not because it's every phone, but even a slot machine can pay its biggest jackpot twice in a row; it's the way odds work.

At the very least you may want to see if you can reproduce it on a demo phone.

Yeah I have been noticing all kinds of things like that and it seems it goes back and fourth between that unresponsive screen feeling you have with the unlock screen at times where the screen is laggy and or just is t doing things. I have noticed that turning off the phone and back on can help but I also noticed this same stuff with my iPhone 14 Pro right as they released the AI or were actually deploying it. I know the iPhone 14 wouldn’t have had the AI but in the ecosystem I felt it. Like everything that was an app connected to apples cloud you could then tell what it was it was controlling because out of nowhere it would just derp out hard haha. Less of that now and these phones are spectrum provider phones (16 bought dec 2024)

My 16 Pro Max, despite having a screen protector removed, continues to experience significant lag when typing. It is possible that there may be a hardware problem.

Yes and it’s extremely annoying. It will just randomly miss taps. So if I’m typing, letters just randomly miss. And sometimes when you’re tapping on an app it just doesn’t respond.

Laggy screen. Unresponsive to touch. Especially around the corners. Can never “x” out of things. Force restart does not help. iPhone 16 Pro Max. Also has connectivity issues with Verizon everywhere.

This is more likely to be the Instagram app rather than iOS.

So what has your local Apple Store said about it if it's so readily demonstrable when none of their other devices in the store behave that way?

That’s correct.I turned off the camera button and the device works good.

1) Are you running iOS 18.1?

2) What did the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store and/or Apple Support say about it?
