Why is my iPhone 16 Pro Max battery draining so fast?

3 days is not long considering everything. The easiest thing to do would be to look in settings under battery to see what apps (or any) are using a lot of battery and if it seems abnormally high make sure you have the most recent update for that app…as well as reporting any concerns with the app developer in case they need to release a new update to address any issues with their app’s performance on the new iOS. If you have ruled out anything actually draining the battery abnormally and you have gone through your settings to make sure everything (including new setting options) are where they should be for your actual needs then the next step would be to contact Apple for troubleshooting so if there is an issue with the battery performance across the board Apple can be aware and work on a fix. Chances are that when the iPhone 13 first released the same complaints and concerns existed and flooded this forum. If you didn’t get the 13 until after bug fixes and everything occurred you were likely spared the early problems.

I have another month before I have to send my 13 in. Same here. I'm holding it until I see if they do something to fix this battery issue. It's real. It's not because I/we are doing anything wrong. This is my 5th iphone. We speak the language. This is an Apple issue - not user issue

Yeah, I am super disappointed with his battery performance. Advertised as 27 hours of video streaming, but my 16pro can't even last a day (as in 12 hours) of normal use as in texting email, news, and book reading. This is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. And all the setting are the same as they were on my iPhone 14 which I traded in.

The phone should be plugged in every night. Use Optimized Charging and leave it plugged in until the morning. It is true the 50k photos is a lot and will definitely take more time to index than a user that has 1k. You will also find that when left plugged in all night, these background processes will complete much faster as they are on a low priority queue that will not continue to run on a low battery. Also at night, your phone is performing iCloud updates and checking/downloading new Software updates when it is plugged in.

I don’t do any of that and have the same issue. I don’t use for social media and mainly use for texting and limited calling. I’m at 64% and haven’t done anything today and took my phone off the charger at 7:20 Am

same as me. I am used to use 13 pro max before. Battery health is only 86% still use all day no issue.

3 days ago i bought Iphone 16 pro, it is smaller as I want that size but the battery is 10 times gone faster… dont know if it is problem with this phone battery or ios18?

I have the same issue with my 16 pro, while reading this thread, battery just drained 3% and literally that about 5 minutes top of screen time. I’ve checked if any app is doing something with it like the meta apps or something but it’s the same. I am wondering if I should wait for 18.1, send it to warranty, sell it or return it, but a think AT&T is not accepting returns.

I got my phone setup on Friday (3 days ago) and not seeing any active indexing notices, and this is draining I’m seeing. Is this similar for others?

This is from today- less than 2 hours of screen on time and 85% of the battery…. A little ridiculous.

yes I noticed it when updating my ultra 2 except it never stop draining after it was finished.

Yes, I’m experiencing this too. I first noticed it after the iOS update. I have the 16 pro max but my son got the 16 pro and is experiencing the same issue.

Yes I have also noticed this issue. It’s concerning since I read that the battery life is supposed to be really good on the 16PM. My 2 year old 14PM was better.
