I am unable to add my Apple MagSafe Wallet to my iPhone

I’ve had an issue with the wallet since I switched to iOS 18 and my iPhone 16 Pro yesterday. When I reboot the phone I get the ‘not your wallet’ message. However, the wallet is recognised in Find My and if I detach it I get the usual message about when and where it was detached. So the wallet works perfectly, I just keep getting the message! I thought perhaps I hadn’t removed it properly from my old phone, but a glitch does seem more likely.

Exact same issues on my old leather MagSafe wallet, so I brought a new one from the Apple Store ‘blackberry’ colour. Yep that’s a word we don’t hear often in tech anymore. Anyway, I’ve reported it in all versions of iOS 18.1 when in beta . I’ve removed them, restarted phone to no avail unfortunately.

Taking bad advice, I deleted my wallet from Find My, then tried to add it again. I received the message, this wallet belongs to someone else so I was completely stuck. Off to the Apple store I went as I had read others say that they were swapping them out. When I spoke with a rep and explained the issue, she told me she had not heard of that issue. I showed her and she was dumbfounded and started the process to give me a new wallet. Fun fact, if you buy any Apple product outside of your home country, they cannot replace or service the product when you get home. I bought my wallet in Paris so again I was stuck She proceeded to tell me a nightmare of a story that a man bought a MacBook Pro in Germany and the screen died when he got back to the US. They had to ship it back to Germany as a return so he could buy a new MBP here in the US. Thought you world travelers should know that. Anyway, not all was lost. She sold me a new wallet at 75% off so I ended up paying only $15. Added the new wallet without issue but at reboot, I once again received "Not your wallet". This is definitely an 18.0-18.01 issue. Without deleting it, I just added it back on. This issue appears to be resolved with 18.1.

I have the same problem. Have been using an Apple MagSafe wallet purchased new since I got my IPhone 14 also new 2 years ago. Now with the iOS 18 update it says this is not my wallet. This is for sure a bug in iOS 18 no two ways about it.

Yes, they probably had you logout of your Apple Account (formerly Apple ID) which removes cards from your Wallet.

That’s a possibility I considered, but I wanted the OP to describe what he’s looking for. I had a leather one that was constantly falling off my iPhone. I finally quit using it and bought a leather wallet and attached an Air Tags to it.

I have the same problem. It started today. I am getting “Not Your Wallet” suddenly. When I look for my wallet on “Find My”, it says location not found. I am also on iOS 18.0. My phone chimes when the wallet is attached and vibrates when the wallet is detached, I get no notifications other than “Not Your Wallet” at startup when I reboot my phone.

Tried that they go through everything and you end up ages on the phone having to setup again all your wallet cards and they go a full reset and restore from backup. It makes NO difference. It’s a bug needs to be fixed

100% Jeff. I am explaining what Apple support make you do if you report the Mag safe wallet issue. By them asking you to do the reset has the knock on effect that your cards in electronic wallet will need to be set up again. Yes they trying to solve mag safe leather wallet issue by a reset but the reset will remove your cards from wallet App.

Same issue. When I upgraded to ios 18, for a day or two my leather Magsafe wallet gave the "Not my Wallet" notification. Then the leather wallet simply stop registering at all, and no location shows for it under FindMyiPhone.

Removing/reattaching the leather wallet does nothing.

Well now I think I am really out of luck. I tried to remove the wallet then add again. Now I just get the message... "Not your wallet" so now it won't allow me to add it all. I guess I am going to make a trip to the Apple Store. Whatever you do, do not remove your wallet from your devices list because you will not be able to add it back.

My stolen device protection was already set Off. I turned it on, restarted phone, no effect for me.

Are you saying that after doing whatever, running ios 18.0.1. that removing your Apple Wallet gets an IMMEDIATE notification and not just a tactile vibration response? Eventually I do get a

"____'s wallet" was detached.

Your wallet was left near ________

but not the usual quick notification.

NEITHER DO I! Then I also got the message “not your wallet”, tried to erase it from “Find My” and add it again but when I did that, I got the message that it’s already paired although it’s not… idk what to do at this point.

Is this using the Wallet with MagSafe?

Did you purchase it new?

Are you able to remove it from FindMy and add it again?
