if you got the patience Apple will replace it after a couple of hours with them they decided after it’s gone to L3 support that they need to send me a new wallet. I am technical myself and write programs for over 20 years so I know the issue:-
- the wallet has RFID in it (think a unique serial number)
- Apple has a bug that you can remove your wallet from their tracking database and as far as “FIND MY” is concerned it’s gone but it’s still in Apples database
- So you try and re-ads or start your phone and it reads the RFID looks at the database and sees that RFID is not in your “Find My” set of device - hence the error
I was hoping with the debug season I had that Apple would simple identify the RFID remove it from their central database and we be fine. But life is not that simple :) good news is after 2 x hours with them and after L3 they decided we sent you a new wallet (works perfect BTW)
my advise if under guarantee just go to the Apple shop - with their support it takes take a ages and make you reset phone etc…
