Apple CarPlay Not Working in iOS 18.0

Turning off Voice Shortcut resolved the car play music issues.

Check if your phone is paired via Bluetooth after wiping the device and carplay is working on Bluetooth.

I tried all tips and recommendations. The problem with CarPlay is a failure of IOS 18 and iOS 18.01 updates that @Apple needs to fix.

It works with cable for me and not without cable. Different issuwes with one root cause. @Apple updates since IOS 18.0 onwards.

I tried turning off the vocal shortcuts & it didn’t fix it. The only workaround I could find was buying a wireless CarPlay adapter.

Sound problem in carplay after iOS 18 update, when music is played, the iPhone screen turns on for some reason, the quality of the music becomes like the sound of the radio, and when the screen is turned off, the music stops. I tested the ios 17 version, the sound is clear and good like before, after the 18 update, there was a problem and I can't connect with the cable, I'm connected with bluetooth, there's no problem with the cable, I'm waiting for your answer. Also having problems - I have the new iPhone 16 Pro Max and Car Play in my 2023 Mini Countryman. Every time I leave the car I have to start all over again and forget the car and re-connect it like new. I get in and out of my car multiple times a day and it’s making me want to chuck this phone out the window. I keep praying for a software update that fixes it.

My car Cadillac XT4 no longer connects using my phone cable. I had an 11. Purchased the 16 and haven’t been able to use CarPlay since . Can connect via Bluetooth to play music. Will not even charge my phone but other phones not on iOS 18 can connect and charge. Tried updating software, car system says my software is up to date. Honestly I want my 11 back. This has given me a headache. Not being able to charge my phone could leave me stranded.

Same here. Bluetooth connection is fine. Carplay via cable is acting weird. Wave map and narrator can be connected but nothing else. Audio from Youtube and the music library comes out on the phone speakers only, not to my car speakers. These have happened after I updated to iOs18.

My CarPlay is also not working with IOS 18. I can only bluetooth music. I’m about to go on a long road trip and not having navigation is going to be awful and dangerous having to constantly look at my phone. Please fix this apple!

Distorted sound and volume issue here but I have not updated to 18. Currently iOS 17.6.1 on a 15+. This issue showed up after dealership rebooted the infotainment system (Saturday/Monday - not sure if this is coincidence or not).

Works with old phone under iOS 16.6.1 and iPod Touch 15.8.3 (usb only).

I've swapped cables and ports in my Nissan Kicks. No joy.

I still need to try and forget the car and redo the connection.

Brand new iPhone 16 ~ Updated to iOS 18.

Numerous issues, Continuous plugging and re-plugging of the cord. Music Sometimes does not play through the car and if it does, it’s mono, Speaker icon on dashboard comes on volume cannot be adjusted properly.. Have done every troubleshooting, imaginable chords, reboot, resets, settings on the phone from every source imaginable. Not happy please help! Thanks guys.
