iPhone 16 Pro Max lagging after iOS 18 Update

I recently bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max and it is almost impossible to use. When I want to take a picture the phone constantly goes back to lock or appears a circle of death. In addition, when I want to search for something that starts with the letter "s" in "Siri suggestion" my iPhone but not only because my iPad also starts to lag. IOS 16 is currently impossible to use smoothly and effectively. Should I do something about my iPhone cameras or wait for the next update?

I am so glad I found you all. I upgraded from the 12 Pro Max to the 16 Pro Max. I am in full regret mode and I wish I had not turned in my 12 to Verizon. I can't seem to do anything on the 16PM. It freezes and restarts. I can't access iMessage, etc. Is this a bug fix issue or a hardware issue? (Please forgive my lack of knowledge.)

This is absolutely ridiculous. I bought my iPhone 13 Mini when it came out and traded it for the 16 Pro last week.

The 16 Pro is less functional and more laggy than my 13 Mini with 70% battery health.

I had the option to have the Mini replaced, but I wanted a phone with a better battery life. Now I have a phone that charges fast, but gets just as hot, lags massively for all videos and many web pages, and has a camera that keeps crashing unless I restart the phone right before using it.

What in the everloving heck?

The battery health is 100%. I’m using the supplied cable and an Apple brick. I’m using about a third of the maximum storage capacity.

This phone should be running like a freaking cheetah, but it feels more like a sloth on a full stomach at times.

I honestly think apple well aware of the issue they came out hot fix 18.01 I think it just temporary patch, but I think they fix is going to be 18.1. But when that coming out?

I don’t think everyone is reporting the phone issue, a lot of us use our phone the fullest and some barely and some use it like an iPhone 8. Those ppl usually don’t report issue or not knowing it. Like my stepmom went from iPhone 8 to 16pro max, she not seeing issue, becuz she not like us coming from 14/15 to 16. iPhone 15 and 17.7 was perfect. Phone running best.

may be the 16 need that other feature open to run the best since is lock till 18.1 may be that’s the issue. That would make sense why apple haven’t fully fix the issue. I m exp like u guys, specially text i can click send 5 times wont send if i wait few second then it will. My wife try to send me txt her having so much issue where it will lag, i guess i will try the classic fully wipe then restore back up. But I don’t think it will fix the issue and the battery was amazing but 18.01 update have really start to kill battery like 15 pro max late update. I almost temp to do beta update just to see problem solve and able to use my phone, point of the phone issue to be friendly and consistent function. That’s what make apple, if i want a phone fast and awesome brand new and slow down and crash in a month or 2 I just got galaxy. And I own them before. But I guess we see when 18.1 cuz I think the fix be in it. They are not going to hot fix the phone.

I deeply regret getting the 16 pro max. My 2 year old 14 pro max had better battery life at 86% than this 16 PM I have never seen anything like it. When another iPhone sends me a pic in messages, it takes forever for the pics to download. When I pull up Amazon it “still loading” for far too long. Anytime I pull up safari it’s like I’m on 3g even though it says 5g. Take my advice and don’t downgrade to the 16!

I'm generally thrilled with the improvements when I upgrade my iPhone, but this time I'm profoundly disappointed. Angry even. I sent my 14 pro max in for trade in, and wish I hadn't. Everything is slower on the 16 pro max. The battery also doesn't seem to last as long, but I've only had it for 2 days so I'm not sure about that. Siri dictation is so laughably laggy it's essentially unusable, and that's a feature I'm used to using all the time.

If you're considering upgrading, DON'T. It's a massive downgrade from the 14 from my perspective.
