iPhone 16 Pro Max lagging after iOS 18 Update

I recently bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max and it is almost impossible to use. When I want to take a picture the phone constantly goes back to lock or appears a circle of death. In addition, when I want to search for something that starts with the letter "s" in "Siri suggestion" my iPhone but not only because my iPad also starts to lag. IOS 16 is currently impossible to use smoothly and effectively. Should I do something about my iPhone cameras or wait for the next update?

SOLVED: Just got off the phone with Apple support to talk about my identical issues. They had me reset my phone but only the “network settings”. It solved the lag and Siri problem.

I suspect a setting carried over from my previous phone in the automatic transfer, which was cleaned up at network setting reset.

I voice text all the time. There’s a serious lag from when I speak to when it translates to text. I’ve never had this issue before, currently have iPhone 16 Pro Max with the latest software update. It is literally one to two sentences behind my voice. I have to wait for it to catch up otherwise if I stop it we’ll cut everything off and not finish the sentence. . Is Apple aware of this and is there a fix?

I'm generally thrilled with the improvements when I upgrade my iPhone, but this time I'm profoundly disappointed. Angry even. I sent my 14 pro max in for trade in, and wish I hadn't. Everything is slower on the 16 pro max. The battery also doesn't seem to last as long, but I've only had it for 2 days so I'm not sure about that. Siri dictation is so laughably laggy it's essentially unusable, and that's a feature I'm used to using all the time.

If you're considering upgrading, DON'T. It's a massive downgrade from the 14 from my perspective.

I made a post saying like abt a month ago i was just abt to pull the trigger on a 16PM.. but wanted to think abt it for a week.. then I started getting alot of bad reviews as your giving now.. which made me wait another week and so on.. now I am glad I didnt upgrade.. sorry to hear you did and now your stuck.. I have a 14PM and it works flawless.. so going to wait for the 17PM now.. I think you and I next time we upgrade.. dont buy the phone the first month or 2 after it is released.. whats happening now it seems is the ppl that are buying the 16pro models are the testers.. or Guinea pigs and Verizon is fixing the problems after the fact and just want the user group to spend $$$$ first.. and Verizon is LOL all the way to the bank and slowing fixing all the bugs which they should have gone thru this months prior to release

So Wait a couple months.. then if there is very little bad review.. then lets pull the trigger and buy and upgrade with some confidence.

After 3 weeks this iPhone 16 is far too hot to hold against my ear and the battery is still dropping like a stone in water. I also click on the login box and a white rectangle appears- what’s that? Lags terribly.

Apple when are you going to fix these issues?

when is someone from Apple going to get onto this platform and address everyone’s concerns?

Wasn’t this noticed in the beta version?
